Sometimes he has very good observations and comments (a few inspired me), sometimes he doesn't, or didn't, perhaps he has improved over the years. He knows how to manipulate with rhetorical effects too. Yet he isn't that good an artist himself. Overall he doesn't seem to deserve that kind of public attention.
徐悲鴻 is a very gifted artist himself, perhaps uniquely gifted, but somehow the qualities of his art declined rapidly over the years, which is a mystery to me. He died relatively young, likely missed a chance to revive his art.
