As the intellect has chosen a preference it directs all its energy towards it. Since its energy is enormous, it will split its target into sub-targets a d grow each of them into a worthy one. But many are inherently unworthy.
Chinese or Indian thinkers must have fallen preys to this foolishness in their own fashions too.
A good thing about the modern world is that all these intellectual traditions are available to people who are motivated to learn. But one must be independent and think for themselves.
