如果不强調中西對立，也可以說是西方的不足在於沉思的深度不够，中國的不足在於在某個深度上停留的時間不够。

Descartes called his work on "I think therefore I am" "the first meditation". It was indeed only a first meditation. If he went deeper he might discover there was no "I".

Had ancient Chinese thinkers held their meditation on Descartes' depth longer, they might have developed more physical sciences.
