春眠不觉晓，
This morn of spring in bed I ’ m lying,

处处闻啼鸟。
Not woke up till I hear birds crying.

夜来风雨声，
After one night of wind and showers,

花落知多少。
How many are the fallen flowers!

Version 1:

春眠不觉晓，
This spring dawn I was sleeping tight and sound,

处处闻啼鸟。
Woken up by birds chirping all around.

夜来风雨声，
Blame it on the wind and rain of last night

花落知多少。
That countless flowers dropped off to the ground.

(注：尾韵押 aaba /ound/; 10 syllables each sentence.)

 

Version 2:

春眠不觉晓，
This spring dawn I was sleeping sound,

处处闻啼鸟。
Woke up with bird calls all around.

夜来风雨声，
Came the wind and rain in the night,

花落知多少。
Countless flowers dropped to the ground.
