Not as a physicisit but as a thinker.
Some time but not too long ago I read a book "Opinions and ideas : Albert Einstein" ( https://www.amazon.com/Ideas-Opinions-Albert-Einstein/dp/0517884402 )
not remembering he said anything particularly profound. I don't even remember if he said anything about Buddhism. However he did impress me as being more empathetic constrasting more typical western thinkers, as well his perception of reality did seem to echo Buddhist ideas a bit, for instance, he said the first thing he noticed as a seperate being was that his own being depended on other beings, from the cloths he's wearing to the language he's speaking or the physics he's learning, none being created by himself... But I think this regonition came naturally to him other than due to Buddist influences.
The thing is, when you are famous, people will put extra weights in whatever you say even when what you say is outside your experty.
If I were to recommend one famous person whose ideas really shine outside his experty, it would be the Dutch painter Vincent Van Gogh (his letters). I was deeply inspired by many passages in his writings.
