I think lots of people just misunderstood him and many others.

He is not against China or Chinese in any way. He is a Chinese. He doesn't agree with what the ruling government is doing and he wants his opinions be heard. That's all. If the ruling government is willing to listen, he and many other don't have to go so extreme in voicing their concerns.
A healthy society tolerates and protects people with different opinions.
