Your burning desire to know the truth supercede all other desires, rendering other desires meaningless.

Everyone is different. Some became interested in truth after great sufferings. Some became interested after too much material satisfaction which did not provide a sense of ultimate satisfaction, like Buddha. Only that person knows why he becomes interested. The end result is the same, he embark on this ardous journey that has no return.
