看了《标杆人生》作者华理克关于生命目的和世界观的一场演讲，很实在。
寻求生命的价值意义是每个人的必经之路， 除非人没有思想，只管吃喝。

Some excerpts from the talk:
Are we living or simply existing today?
I don-t believe that you are an accident.
I think you matter for God, you matter for history and for the universe.
What is a good life?
It is not about looking good, feeling good ,and having the goods.
A good life is about being good and doing good, giving your life away.
The meaning of life comes from giving, in giving, you find meaning of your life.
Why I am here? What I am here for? where am I going? These are human issues, not religious issues.
I don't think you are given money and influence just for yourself.
The first sentence of the book (Purpose-driven Life) is "It is NOT about you."
It is about a stewardship of affluence and influence.
Do you believe that as human beings it is our responsibility to take care of the environment and to make the world a better place for the next generation?
Or would you say no, I am no more responsible than a duck is ?
Your world view decides everything you do in your life.
What is the purpose of being affluent and influential?
The purpose of influence is to speak up for those who have no influence.
When I got affluent, I said, I would use the affluence and influence to help those who do not have them.
Widows and orphans are not in my path way. I have to look what is in my environment?
God asks Moses: what is in your hand? It is a staff.. What does a staff represent? identity , as a shepherd, income from having asset of sheeps, influence that you can use to do what is needed, i.e., to move sheeps from one place to another.
When I read Solomon's prayer in Psalm 72 : He prays to God that I want you to make me famous, influential, .. so that the King may care the widow and the orphan, the weak and the needy and the oppressed... and speak up for all those who are marginalized in the society.
You need to look at your shape, you are wired to be a certain kind of people. Do you know that God smiles at you when he sees you be you? Why? He made you, when you use the talent and ability that He gives you, He says: good, that is my boy or my girl.
What is at your hand? talent, background, education, freedom, wealth, network, ideas, creativity.
I come here to say to you: " what is at your hand?"
What is the purpose of my life?
It is NOT about me, it is about making the world a better place.
