碰到这种情况，你会如何回应？

相信我们都碰到过这样的情形，有时遇见一个亚裔，尤其是很像同胞时，可能会问一下，“are you a Chinese?"

十几年前刚来美国，在旧金山开会时，在等去会议中心的大巴时，见到一个“同胞”，问后，得到的答复是“No, I am a Taiwanese". 当时也不知如何回答。就冷了场。

今天在我任教学校GYm 的桑拿室内，又碰到一个看似同胞的人，此君中年，已经泄顶。当时就我们两，有一搭无一搭的用英文聊了一两句。我又问了相同的问题。他回答“No, I am NOT a Chinese, I am a Taiwanese".

I immediately responded " Really, I never heard of it"

他看起来很窝火，但又不知怎样还击，就都不说话。一会儿，他就离开了。
