《1944》的歌词描写1940年代，受到苏联斯大林压迫而强制离开原居住地的克里米亚鞑靼人。贾玛拉的创作灵感来自于他曾祖母Nazylkhan曾经告诉她的故事。Nazylkhan在20多岁时带着五个孩子被强迫移居到中亚一带，其中一个女儿在路途中失去了生命。贾玛拉的曾祖父当时正在苏联红军参加二次世界大战，无法保护自己的家庭。（维基百科）
