   The  brawling of a sparrow in the eaves,                          麻雀喧嚣声在房檐下回响，
    The brilliant moon and all the milky sky,                     皎洁的月亮满天群星，
    And the loud song of the ever-singing leaves,             歌唱不息的树叶歌声嘹亮，
    Had hid away earth’s old and weary  cry.                      隐匿了尘世间疲惫的鸟鸣
 

      And then you came with those red mournful lip         你一来红唇上带着悲怆，
      And with you came the whole of the world’s tear,     你一来全世界泪水涟涟，
      And all the trouble of her  labouring ships                  一艘艘大船满载着沉重负担
      And  all the trouble  of her myriad years.                   满载着千年万年的劳神费心
 

    And now the sparrows warring in the eaves,                麻雀在屋檐下打斗不停，
    The curd-pale moon, the white stars in the sky,          苍白的月亮洁白的星星，
    And the loud chaunting  of the unquiet  leaves,          不安静的树叶高歌不停
    Are shaken with earth’s old and weary cry.                   震抖出世间疲惫的悲伤。

 

诗人简介：------威廉·巴特勒·叶芝William Butler Yeats（1865—1939），爱尔兰诗人，剧作家，散文家，出生于都柏林，被赞誉为上世纪初爱尔兰文学复兴运动的领军人物和西方近代的伟大诗人之一，1923年曾获诺贝尔文学奖。叶芝注重诗歌的形式和风格，主张写诗要有朦胧，含蓄和超俗。其诗歌富有浪漫主义色彩，其代表作有«茵尼斯弗利岛»（请参见拙译），«心愿之乡»，«十字路口»等。

这一诗共三节，每节诗由四句诗组成。此诗按abab/cdcd/abab押韵，格律严谨。
