I don’t know what make me feel so fascinated about the movie, I capture the castle. Is it the mysterious castle, the innocence of the main character, or the song You and the Night and the Music? It is about two sisters, Rose and Cassandra who live in a rented castle with his writer father and eccentric stepmother, and a brother. They were very poor because the father has not been able to write anything for 12 years. One day, they had two young guests coming to castle: Simon, the new owner of the castle, and Neil, the brother of Simon. Simon fell in love with Rose, and proposed to her after some interesting visits. But eventually Rose run away and married Neil, after she realized that she don’t love Simon and should not marry Simon for money. While Cassandra was alone in the castle with her whole family went to the London, she had a surprise visit from Simon. They chatted with the fire in the woods, and danced with the song: You and the Night and the Music. Simon kissed her, and Cassandra magically fell in love with him. At the end of the movie, Simon wanted to take Cassandra to America with him, even though he was still in love with Rose. Cassandra declined his offer and said, “I love, I have loved, I will love…”
Love, depicted in this movie, is like emerged from late summer dream. The magic and the unsettling feelings seem more captivating with the castle and the surrounding woods as background. Like Cassandra said after falling in love with Simon, “I said I would never fall in love; I said love was a murderous thing; And it is, and I'm floating on air.”, love can come in the least expected moment and blossom like wild dandelion.
