第一次听到这首歌，还真以为它是首情歌，仔细听其实是一首带有浓郁民谣唱腔的思乡之歌,描述了远离家乡后依依不舍又孤寂的心情。
演唱者是凯尔特女人组合中的 Lisa Kelly ：她有着一个明亮高亢，充满活力，又不失圆润，无须太多修饰的漂亮声音。如果你曾感受过大河之舞的恢弘，一定会对她振奋人心，极富时代感的嗓音念念不忘。事实是，Lisa在作为女主唱加入大河之舞之前，已有了非同寻常的履历——七岁开始演唱的她曾在多部音乐剧中担任过重要角色。2005年，Lisa应邀加入凯尔特女人这个神奇的非凡团队，毫无疑问，这是她职业生涯的又一次重要转折。很遗憾，据说她因为个人原因暂时离开组合一段时间了，，，

Caledonia原本是苏格兰的某个地方，歌中唱的是指苏格兰，而不是狭义的Caledonia。
在苏格兰享受的就是一种自然。这里的景色类似于我们四川九寨沟，只是没有那么高的海拔，却更开阔、荒芜。除了高地湖水，最不容错过的自然景观便是纯静的岛屿。有的被云层覆盖，好像隐藏在天空中的神秘小岛。

古老而凝重的城堡

荒凉与凄美的壮阔高地：那里才是苏格兰人的灵魂所在。

有人比较喜欢这个男声版的，演唱者是 Dougie MacLean.，据说是这首歌的原唱。这个视频可以看到Calediniade 的无限风光，水出闲门说：“ 天堂也就是这样了！”
