一个莫斯科小故事

在大学的第一个暑假里、跟几个同学到莫斯科见识一下。见识到的、是莫斯科人视而不见、避而不近的一群行乞者。

他们乞钱，尤其是欧美游客的钱。行乞时、不站着，不走着，而是滑行着。滑行所倚靠的、是滚轴溜冰鞋那样的小轮子。不，他们不是穿着溜冰鞋，因为都己双腿不存。凭着双手或一只手，他们就像划艇子似的，开动着盖上残旧毡子的所谓“座驾车”。同时，各自横銜着一把小匕首，因此也不开口。

遇见我们这一夥外来的少男少女，他们就爭着“疾驶”上来，互相碰撞，引致较弱者翻车。最強最前的一个立即刹停、转身、一只手从嘴巴接过小匕首，直指后来的竞乞者们。大概是约定俗成的游戏规则吧，后来者们都不再争前，只是凝望着冠军持匕行乞。乞取了几块美元后，冠军就将纸币塞进“坐毡”下，昂首銜匕而去。

此时，后来者们一起蜂拥而上竞乞。其中一人把他的匕首放下，帶着浓浓口音、用英语高声说：“We play. You pay.” 众人狠狠地点头和应。这一回，没有一个行乞者空手而返。

查问懂英语的路人，才知道滚轴竞乞者们都是从阿富汗战场回来的前苏联伤兵。“Their welfare? The government never lifts a finger.”
