前一篇讲了观光和老朋友叙旧,都是好玩的事儿。。这一篇来讲讲打工的辛苦。。
DAY THREE
An exhausting day! I walked out of the hotel at 8am, did not come back until 6:30pm, had no time for breakfast and fell asleep on the shuttle back to the hotel..
I put in use one of the necklaces I procured yesterday for the day's oufit..
And now the entire outfit. The mirror was too close to the bed in my hotel room, so the only way to capture from head to toe was to sit down..
For the evening reception, I changed into jeans and flats...
This leopard print top and the necklace turned out to be quite versatile :-).
The reception was held at the Navy Pier. The first hall I walked into...
and the band playing on stage..
Apparently, the whole affair was at the courtesy of the State of Georgia..
Another hall with food and music..
I ended the night with a full plate of deserts - baklava, pecan pie and a little chocolate mousse cup.
DAY FOUR
Miserable weather - raining started in the morning. However, it did not really make a difference for me, since I was beelining between the hotel and the convention center.
Outfit of the day.
I did not get back to the hotel until after 6:30pm and had to work for another 3 hours or so...
DAY FIVE
No more raining, but it was even colder.. Once again, it did not really make a difference for the worker bee..
I started the day at 8:30am and was booked all the way to 5:30pm with only 30 minute for lunch! Dinner was at the Gibson's Steakhouse. I was caught completely in surprise when our waiter brought out the meat selection..
I was even more surprised, almost fell out of my chair, in fact, when my order was delivered. I felt it was even bigger than me! Never in my life had I seen so much meat on my dinner plate!
I had to admit that it was superb, especially dipped in the horseradish cream, very complementary in taste. I managed to finish half of it..
After the dinner, I had no more energy to go to any parties or reception and retired to my room..There was still some work to do, unfortunately.
DAY SIX
This was the last day. There was only one meeting in the morning, and then I would have to run to the airport to catch my flight home.
Given that I would be meeting with someone I knew and the need to run to the airport afterwards, I took the initiative to relax the dress code and had on a comfortable pair of jeans and flats..
Threw on a blazer to add a bit formal flair..
Made a sketch just for fun..
One last picture of the convention center as I bade goodbye to this beautiful city..
Bye bye, Chicago, until next time.
