It's my hu*****and's turn to pick a restaurant for our Saturday dinner. And he had apparently not done his job, since we still did not know where to have dinner after dropping off the kids at my Parents' on Saturday afternoon. He is a fan of Italian cuisine, so a quick search on Yelp under Italian yielded our venue for the dinner, a place claiming "rustic Italian cuisine" with homemade pasta and using lots of local produce.
We walked by the place many times but never went in until this time. When we got there, the day was still bright. It has outside seatings, however, due to the chilly weather and the lack of gas lamps, no one was sitting outside admiring the street. We requested a window booth that allowed us a view without having to take in the outside chilly air.
The decor is on the conventional side.
So was our view of the street :-).
We started with a fruity martini..
It turned out to be a bit too much on the fruity side.
The complimentary bread was quite plain in appearance..
But it was very tasty dipped in olive oil.. I probably had a bit too much of it.
I ordered the traditional Minestrone soup..
Truly traditional. Not extraordinary was all I can say..
My entree was described as an Italian crepe wrapped with chicken and a variety of vegetables in a special sauce.. When it was brought to the table, however, it looked nothing like what I was expecting from a description that contained the word crepe. Rather, on first glance, one might mistake it for an enchilada:-).
However, it tasted decent..
My hu*****and ordered one of the day's specials. It was a pasta with scallops and sun dried tomato..
The scallops were done very tenderly , and it's what made the dish.
I could not finish my entree, yet I yielded to my sweet teeth and shared this desert with my hu*****and.
It had chocolate and nuts, two things that I could simply not resist.. In my opinion, the desert was the best of the meal.
As usual, I asked my hu*****and to give it a rating on a 1-5 scale with 5 being the best. He gave this place a 3.5.
Now switch gear to clothing. Here are two of the outfits I wore during the week.
#1 - I showed the lime green pants before. It's Calvin Klein. The top is bought from Macy's, and the shoes are BCBG Generation..
#2 - the only thing new here are the shoes, which are from Coach. I am in perpetual pursuit of that perfect pair of black pumps. This pair is close :-).
Now in keeping with the Italian theme here, I would like to share one of the dresses I tried on.
