Yes it does great for wrinkle. Healing acne is a bonus. I heard something like this, a good dermatologist would like all of his/her patient to start using retin-a starting 30 years old. 45 is a bit late, but later than never. Better start from a low % if you never use retinol. I'm currently using neutrogena anti-wrinkle which I love to death, and i will switch to retin-a this year.
