I just want him to be proud of his accomplishment and awards. He does not think that he deserve much of it because he doesn't think he spent much effort. He doesn't think intelligence should not be rewarded, efforts should be awarded. Out of frustration, I told him to look for people and their efforts that might have helped him along the way.
