His math can improve dramatically if you let him practice a litt

Go a bookstore to buy a SSAT/ISEE preparation book to review. Likely he was not careful during the test. Most Chinese kids are good at math, with  99 percentile. Be careful with his reading--Chinese boys suffers this easily, especially in 7th grade.

93 percentile is not bad at all. The percentile is among SSAT takers, I.e. selected group. So do not be hush on him.another round, he might improve to 98 or even 99 percentile. 

It is not easy for Asian boys these days to get into any magnet or a top private schools. I know some Asian boys with97,98 or even 99 percentile got rejected by magnet school. So, I strongly suggest your son take another test with reviewing of a test preparation book. Kept in mind even the ISEE format is different from SSAT, the test concept and level is very close. So going over to ISEE section is good to use vthe whole book. Kaplan book has a vocabulary table at the very end, it might be helpful for you son to improve. For 6 th grade, 99 percentile might be 2095-2100 score level.
