Too many people want to buy weapons to defend themselves. The prices have gone way up, The detail prices almost double those online. I guess people are reluctant to submit their IDs and credit cards for background checks, and retail stores took a good advantage for that. For example, this handgun is $527 on line, but about $1100 in stores.
