没听说过搬家不及时通知DMV 是一种crime, 但是如果你收不到DMV的有些信件而导致不及时付有些费用的话，你会受罚的 (late fee)。如果因为地址错误而不回复法庭的信件的话，你可能也得受到金钱上的处罚，所以主动找法庭，DMV去改地址应该是上上之策。

(You don't have to tell DMV when you moved. I don't think they care either.)
