鸟瞰
云散山河神迹邈,
鸟飞沧海桑田绿。
桨声灯影鹤归来,
击翅高歌故园曲。
A Bird's Eye View
Birds of a feather flock together,
fly over the emerald plain,
traverse ten thousand leagues of spring.
Clouds thin out over the azure sky.
I can view the mountains and the waters
with a bird's eye. There is some divinity
even in the passing dust as the dusk engulfs us.
In the vast expanse the god's absence is present.
It's said that he has left with a yellow crane
that never came, knowing when to go and when to return.
Parting oars stroke the low water,
homeward wings ride the high wind.
The bamboos chant, the flying echoes linger.
In a moonlit boat I pass the long night through.
