Baby Raccoon Dog Gets Rescued by Police Department
On the streets of Shanghai, China, this adorable little creature was rescued by police officers. The department received a call when someone mistakenly thought this baby raccoon dog was a bear cub wandering in their garden.
The officers on duty took the cute baby back to the department to give him a new cardboard box home and food until he could be sent somewhere else. A forestry worker informed the police that it was indeed a raccoon dog and NOT a bear cub.
While the baby was at the station, the officers there did what needed to be done: they dressed up the little raccoon in a police uniform, took pictures and posted them online.
The baby raccoon has been taken in by the forestry department and will be released back into the wild. Raccoon dog numbers are dwindling because people are hunting them for their fur, but the cutest member of the Shanghai police force should be safe.
