Oskar the Blind Cat (Official)

On January 18th, we posted about a sweet outdoor cat named Elvis living with a feral/stray colony behind our new home (in a large shipping terminal area -- quite industrial). A lady named Lori Jacobs has been taking care of the colony for the past seven years by providing food, shelter, and even some toys. She has an assistant on a couple of the nights, but otherwise, she is there every evening after work -- rain or shine -- and she pays for all of the supplies herself. Oh yeah, all of the cats are managed using TNR (trap - neuter - release).

Anyway...we want to provide contact info for anyone interested in giving Elvis a safe home, or in assisting Lori. She already adopted two of the cats herself, and it's unlikely she has room for more. Elvis is about 11 years old, and he would do best in a household with no other cats. He is not a true feral in the sense that he does not avoid human contact -- you just need to win his trust. He even rubbed up against my legs last time I went jogging on the trail that runs through the area. He's very playful too...like a big kitten!

If you would like to reach Lori, please contact her at this e-mail address: lorijacobs@comcast.net. She could probably use a donation of old bedding, or maybe even food (Oskar donated his year's supply of Friskies soft food that he won to the colony). If you live in Seattle and want to assist her on a night or two, she probably would love that too. Reach out to her with any questions at all!

Thank you! : )
