I was at the South Bay SPCA in El Segundo. Just Google "los angeles animal shelter" or "los angeles spca" and see what comes up.

Another option is to look on petfinders.com. It will let you narrow the breed, age and location criteria. Many shelters and animal rescues list their adoptable pets on that site.
