you don't have to feel guilty about sending him to

crate. pretty soon, he will think crate is like his own den. he would love it. throw a little treat, every time you send him to crate. it seems right now, he should be outside the crate no more than 30 min each time, and under close supervision.(if you cannot supervise him at that time, he should definitely be in crate.) you need to be strict with the rules. No problem, he will get used to it. Remember, you are the boss & leader. Otherwise, it could be dangerous for male dogs, if they think they are dominant in the house.

Normally, it is said that crate training should continue unless the dog is over 3 years old.
