且听风吟

       新西兰著名女歌手海莉·薇思特拉（Hayley Westenra）演唱过许多优美的歌曲。我第一次听到是她演唱的《西部往事》（Once Upon a Time in the West），把美国西部的那种辽远广阔和滂沱大气演绎得入木三分，荡气回肠，从此就常听她的歌曲。Hayley的声音纯净，对音乐和歌词的把握都很好，对气息和技巧的运用也是高水平。她的歌里，有一首叫做I Am a Thousand Winds，翻唱自日本人新井满作的歌曲《化为千风》（千の风になって），其歌词让我一听便不能忘，十分喜欢，后来便做了一点搜索。这首歌的歌词来源于美国诗人Mary Elizabeth Frye于1932年所写的诗作，这首诗在英语国家多有传播并会在一些特定场合朗诵，由该诗谱写的歌曲也有多种版本。新井满将其翻译为日文并谱曲。Hayley演唱的就是新井满的版本，英文与原诗略有不同。英文歌词如下：
