托马斯：“让他们滚出巴勒斯坦”

“让他们滚出巴勒斯坦。要记得，这些人（巴勒斯坦人）家园被侵占。这是他们的土地 他们（以色列人）可以回家，去波兰、德国、美国或者其他任何地方。”

　　托马斯之所以退休，可谓“祸从口出”。因对奥巴马政府近来在以色列打死9名国际救援船队人员事件上的消极反应感到不满，托马斯5月27日在白宫外接受访问时发表了对以色列的激烈言论。

　　后来采访视频被放到了网站上，点击人数几天内就突破了百万人次，多数人抨击她发表“仇恨”言论。托马斯很快感受到了压力，她在博客发表声明，对其言论深表歉意，称

“我深信，只有各方承认必须相互尊重、相互宽容，中东才能实现和平，而我的那番话没有反映出这种信念。”

然而，道歉已经无济于事。
