Oceanaire or union trust maybe better choice, both are in philadelphia.
Union trust is a steak house, Oceanair is more like fusion.

I have not been in Morimoto myself, my hu*****and has been there couple of times, he says it look very gay there, and the food is wierd. Although your friend may have different taste.
