Most references would say they used PPP to estimate China GDP in 1840-1890..., but based on some research articles, in 1890, China total outputs were about 2 billion Liang silver, which is equivalent to about 1.5 billion U.S dollar at that time.

 

In 1890, U.S GDP is about 15 billion U.S dollar at that time (my estimates based on dollar value, in 1992 dolar value, 1890 GDP was 200 billion dollar in reference book). So in 1890, U.S alone is about 10 time China's GDP.
