predicament Nazi Germany was in. They were facing pressure everywhere. For example, to protect the cities from bombing (by the US and Great Britain), the Germans had to deploy AA unit around the cities in the rear, which means less units were available for the Eastern Front.

A war is consumption of resources. Nazi Germany was sanctioned by the Royal Navy so it was deprived of some key raw war materials such as oil. I gave out this example before and I am giving it here again. Tungsten was used to manufacture the German AP shell (armor piercing shell). Since the Germans lost access to Africa, they had less chances to produce their fearsome ammunition. It means that the Allied tanks including the Russian tanks had more chances to survive.
