Yes Panzerfaust, I understand that and the Marines in particular often fought outnumbered. The point I was trying to make is that there is a tactical difference between "Human Wave" tactics and those used by the Chinese. In a "Human Wave" tactic, well, think WWI, where everyone goes "over the top" and rushes at an objective attempting to swamp it with sheer numbers. The Chinese used small groups of men taking advantage of the terrain and coordinated them so that the groups would arrive from different directions simultaneously. The preferred tactic in Korea was to infiltrate around the UN soldier's flanks and into the rear, eliminating strong points one by one--but that's not the same as a blind rush forward, charging into the machine guns regardless of losses.
