In my hometown, I know one person. He did a lot of bad things in Culture Revolution.
The worst one in my mind is he took one woman for a meeting to be ``criticized" in 1967 or 1968. The woman just gave a birth for 3 days before that. Whenever my dad told me this story, my dad's tone was so angry.
After Culture Revolution, he was sent to a prison for about 10 years. Around 1984, he was released.
One day, he went to my house and asked my father to say some ``good words" for him. After he left, my dad told me to simply ingore him.
Around 2010, I heard that he was receving pension for his service to GCD and he was ``ping fan" already. In my hometown, very few people can get pension since most people are farmers. Even my dad had no pension although he had served in PLA for 10 years and fought many battles in both China and Korea for GCD.
From this, you can see how complicated the Chinese society is. You never know what is right and what is wrong.
