Excluding several elite schools, a prehealth

Committee selects the applicants based upon SGPA, mcat and so on, and provides the LOR on behalf of the school for the applicants. Without the letter, one still can apply for medical schools for fun.  This is why schools including jhu and washu claim around 90% successful rate.
