I used to analyze every math mistake my son made. By 9th. gr. i never saw any math sheets coming home. Reasons: teachers don't allow to keep, lost, at friend's home, etc... bottomline: don't want you to see.

When i could see, i saw there were problems skipped because it's too boring and tidous to solve. Many many more problems had points deducted because no middle steps. The best solved problems were often the bonus problems, because they were fun to solve (i was told).
