请问民事诉讼的传票问题

请问民事大额诉讼， 如果不知道地址，传票无法送达，还可以控告吗？
我知道城市，姓名， 但是不知道出生年月日， 还知道一个信息是我曾经给过这个人一张支票，他入账到银行了， 依据以上信息是否可以找到这个人并给出传票？ 找人是法院负责还是我自己负责？ 多大把握可以找到？如果这个人搬家的话呢？
