Urgent! Please help!!!

I am a F1 student in US now, and for some reason, I have out of status. But according to our school, as it is not my fault, they will not report me to immigration office, but I maybe in trouble when I apply for OPT after I graduated. And they suggest me to re-enter US with a new I20 to restate my status.

My thing is: I still have a valid F1 visa with one entry left by the end of this month. Can I use it to re-enter US with a totally new I20, which stated the same school, same major as the prior one? Is there any linkage between the visa and I20. Do i need to apply a new visa for the new I20
