My mother always tried to avoid the elevator, afraid something might happen. I also heard/witnessed another person kicking, crying and screaming after being trapped in elevator. I feel sorry about what happened to you and your daughter. Hope you are both OK. The business should be aware of the potential devastating damadge to a person trapped in elevator, and I am guessing that's why they needed a lawyer to contact you. Your and your daughter's rights were violated, even if you didn't go crazy in elevator. If I were you, I may consider finding a lawyer myself.
