Sorry, I have to state it in Poor English because my Chinese input system does not work anymore.
I just started to work in America for only less than one year and not familiar with the medical system yet.
Because I have back and neck pain I visited an orthopedics doctor. Every time I waited for half a hour, he talked to me for a few minutes. Below are some things he got "Black"
He first referred me to an imaging facility for MRI (Which is out of my network) to check my spine. I paid the full cost because it was still below the "out of pocket limit". Sure it was because it was Jan. 5, the start of a new medical year. When I asked about the results, he said it could take one hour to explain and I gave you a report you can read it yourself. For this visit, he took about 5 minutes only and used it to convince me to conduct another test-EMG.
The test was conducted in his office by Another Company. A man with a portable instrument connected to a lap top conducted the test. The only supplies used besides the mentioned two things were two small disposable needles. This test took about half one hour. This time, I was told I did not need to pay and it had been taken care of.
When I checked the claims tonight, what a surprise! They made two claims for two "Organizations", Including multiple laboratory charges, multiple supply charges ,and two pathologist charges. They were also out of net work services. With negotiation by the insurance company and 50% charged supposed to be paid by me, the insurance company still paid them $2300.
The third visit, he referred me to a physical therapist, which is also out of my medical care net work.
Now, I know there is something nasty between the doctor and the referred whatever doctors. Because of this kind "Black-hearted" doctors, we have to pay more for health insurance.
Is there anyway for the orthopedics doctor to be punished and the money paid to the man performing "EMG" test returned"
Thank you very much. I have been visiting this forum for a long time though no inputs before. It would be very nice if "Old Cat" or other friends to answer my questions. We should fight against these "Black-hearted" doctors.
Anything we can do to punish the black-hearted docor?
