How hard is it to become a patent agent?

What kind of process must I go through, beside the bar exam?

Could you or anyone else please elaborate on this?

I am in Biomed field with a PhD degree and many publications. I am also the inventor of several US patents and have interacted with patent lawyers in a number of occasions on my patent application drafts. I like the work they do.

Do you think work for USPTO an option for my career transition into patent law?
