just ignore it. don't worry, the insurance company will take care of it. don't write any letter; don't trust anyone on the phone, instead, always ask him to write a letter so you can having something as evidence later on.
p.s.: if it were such easy for anyone gets what he claims, the insurance company would go bankrupt long time ago. it's just a claim, take it as a joke.
