I don't think Wu would want his family to spend money defending him, he probably wants the money to go to his kids. But for family, it's hard to take the money and let him be helpless.

Maybe the only choice is to do 50% and 50%. Spend 1/2 on him, the 1/2 on the kids. Both sides would feel OK about it.

However, consult a professional for asset protection and legal advice now. Not someone on the net.
