self? Since your wife already admitted her wrongdoing, why not try to talk to the store management and apologize for what she did and pay back whatever she owes and maybe with a fine. Tell them you will do whatever it takes just so they won't press charges against you. It might be worth it to try. At least you will know for sure what they will do next.
