arrest后直接dismiss，如何expunge?

My lg was arrested for battery several months ago. We hired a lawyer and the case was immediately dismissed at the pretrial.
1. In my understanding, we will have to say yes for arrest record, but say no for criminal record. Correct?
2. What is the expungement precedure? Because the case was immediately dismissed, which is the best result we can get, we don't need to wait 5-6 years for expungement, right? We can do the expungement immediately, right?
3. For visa application purposes, what documents can we obtain from the police office or our lawyer? So that we can show the documents to the visa officer.
