If your insurance paid $$$ over $1500+ per incident. 90% chance your insurance will go up no matter what. They have to recover the loss somewhere.

If other insurance paid the bill, then you are ok.

The insurance adjuster is not suppose to be off that much. I think it is very likely that body shop ask too much.

Normally, when insurance settle with the body shop, ex $3500. Shop will get $3000 from insurance and $500 from you.
