This is what I would propose:

1. Divide family duty by the income. Ex. Hu*****and makes 4000 a month and wife makes 3000 a month take home. All debts were separated in a 4:3 ratio.

2. Contribute to a child education funds as 4:3 ratio.

3. Close down all the accounts with both of your names as much as possible including credit cards etc. Refinance car loan to one person's name. Utility bill will switch to 1 person's name. Hu*****and take power wife takes water and gas .... Hu*****and take phone and wife takes cable. ............

4. Open a free checking account and use this account to pay the bills.
