我朋友在一个华人教授长达数年的结婚幌子欺骗下，于08年6月来到OHIO，在此教授的实验室工作。来到OHIO后，此教授被人威肋：有人已经发现了你们之前的亲密关系，一旦举报，教授将立即被学校解雇。

此教授非常害怕，让我朋友主动辞职后回国。我朋友这么多年在他的欺骗下，已经放弃了中国的一切来到美国，怎么可能一下子回去呢？后来多次欲与教授交谈，被拒绝。在教授的诱导下，来到了教授的家门外，教授的家属报警，我朋友入狱。随后教授起诉，我朋友口语不太好，又不了解美国的法律，法庭上被迫认轻罪，得以假释。

出狱后，得知在关押期间已被学校解雇，问学校要正式的文件，学校说没有。后来有关部门发了一个邮件，说因为我朋友给自己的主管造成恐慌，已被解雇，并应尽快离境。

我朋友现在要怎么办？教授逍遥法外，学校在没有查明事实的情况下，偏听偏信。

在离境前，我朋友要如何做，才能维护自己的权益？
