请问单身老猫，转公民的问题。

现住在马里兰州，NIW的绿卡（去年），老公是美国公民，请问我要想转公民，是我必须放弃我的工作绿卡，转成婚姻绿卡，才可以在3年之内转公民吗？还有，3年是指从结婚那天算，还是从拿到婚姻绿卡以后。谢谢。
