如何能合法的赶走租客？

我住在纽约市，租了一个房子，因为太贵，找人分担了。可是合租的人不肯付电费。我跟他理论，他不但不听，还要跟我动粗。我想赶走他，他自然不会轻易的离开。不知道该用什么合法的方式？我并没有和他签合同。
