lease 争议求助

我和房东对签的lease有不同看法，大家伙烦请帮忙看看。房东已经准备叫 collection agency 乐。哭死！

合同正文：

This lease made this March 15, 2007, by and between XXX (landlord) known as Lessor, and you (my name and my wife’s name), known as Lessees, covering the property at XXX (the apartment) for an approximately term of 12 months beginning on 5-15-2007 at 2 PM and ending on 6-28-2008 at 10 AM for a total base rent of $ 7292.00 payable in advance without demand as follows: $307 due on 5-15-2007 for the periods of occupancy from 5-15-2007 to 5-31-2007 and $635 due on the first day of each succeeding month through April 2008.

我其实四月初就搬走了，可房东不同意终止合同。我只好还是按月白白交钱。我已经按照合同交足了$7292, 最后一张房租支票是五月初被取走的。按我的理解，六月份我就不用交房租了。但是我和房东事先没有沟通过六月份房租的问题。可现在房东认为还要再交一个月的房租（六月份）。我认为既然所有的房租支票总额和lease上的一样，而且最后一句话表明房租交到五月份，已经证明我履行了合同，并不算无理取闹。大家给评评理，指点我一下吧。多谢多谢。
